PDA Adventures

In the dim and distance past I owned a Psion Revo. My first Real Mobile Experience was on it, using a Nokia phone, the IR Port and Opera. Alas my Revo is hidden away in the attic and I suspect the battery leaked. So I picked up a dirt cheap Psion Series 5 (the normal, not mx. I'm not made of money) to play with.

Playing about with OPL, the built in Basic based programming language, has become how I waste time. I decided the best way to pick it up would be to to work my way through some of the Advent of Code. So starting with 2015, I've been slowly bashing out solutions.

If you attempt to do the same, here are some links I've found useful:

• instexe.exe - This is required to install sis files on the Psion directly. Without it you need a 32bit Windows computer and a health amount of swearing.

• Programming Psion Computers - PDF of a programming book. I've got the physical copy, it came with the Psion.
